ABS, ESP, BAS Have all failed... Does anyone know if its going to be expensive to fix? Someone who have owned an 02-09 merc?

Could be a short in the wiring or a failed solenoid in the ABS block or a faulty ABS module. So it could be expensive, or it could be a quick fix.

Congratulations! You have finally defeated all the nannies on your Mercedes.
I've never owned a 02-09 Merc, but I think it's safe to say that Yes, this will be expensive.

Would've been better if this happened on the Bimmer LOL.

Not real familiar but abs or wheel speed sensor going bad could trip all those...

I pray that its all down to malfunctioning censors, it has done 240,000 kilometres, had it since new, and never replaced them.

I'd have to go with the other answers here, it could be something small, cheap but vital, or it could be the big expensive bit. 240,000Km would have me pray that it was the cheap piece just worn out.

The brake light switch was one suggestion from local M-B guys. It has been know to lit all three lights when it fails. Other suggestion was connector cleaning.
Reading the fault codes should be quite easy way to solve this. It shouldn't be terribly expensive.

Stealership time!

Sometimes it's just a one time malfunction, I recently had this with the ASR and windows. Drove to the side of the road, shut the car off, waited a few seconds and after shutting it on again it worked just perfectly again.
Otherwise it has been known that unplugging the battery and main computter and plugging them back in resolves these problems, at least on older models. Of course, that would be at your own risk and maybe you'll get lots of other errors showing up if its done wrong - so not really recommended...

It can also be the steering wheel position sensor losing its recorded range at the computer. The reset is to crank the wheel full lock left, then full lock right, then cycle the ignition. (Its a Hall Effect sensor)
It could also be a bad sensor (most likely) not returning any values to the computer, but you'll need STAR Diagnostics to tell you that. (i.e. dealership)

That's like saying it's better than a sharp stick in the eye....

Has to be a sensor problem, if all three systems start to malfunction at the same time.
I've driven an E60 once, that had the DSC, and the indicator stalk return function malfunctioning at once. The culprit? Steering wheel angle sensor.

I can definitely help you with this, but first I need some variables resolved.
1.Have you done the steering angle reset as MtrRider stated?
2.Do you have any lamp malfunctions? Brake lights work? (have someone check while you push brakes)
3.Cruise control work?
4.Any other symptoms?

You are right about the most likely source being the brake light switch, but fault codes for this system require Star Diagnostics. About $100 stealership, $50-$75 Indy

It sounds more like a wiring/circuit problem rather than all those actual systems failing. A similar problem occurred on my family's Land Rover and it was because (apparently) rodents chewed through the wiring harness.

Oh noes, sad day. I'm about to go get the oil changed in my crossfire …. yay for 8 quarts of mobil1 !!

AWR Imports' mechanic says off the top of his head start at the brake switch. and then check the abs pump in the fender. A if it's getting power and then B if it's actually pumping. If not B, give the pump a couple thumps with a hammer to see if it'll wake up.
The problem was more prevalent with the M class of that era because they sat the washer fluid bottle right above the pump and the fluid leaks would make the pump upset.

Check anything now:
1 - I don't quiet get the question? LOL
2 - Brake lights work fine, as do hazards and high beams.
3 - Cruise control doesn't work
4 - Other than the suspension has gotten extremely hard and is in the "highway" mode, which means the car lowers at 120 km/h and sharpens up the suspension, this mode is now on the whole time.

Been to the dealer today for a quick look, and it does look like a malfunctioned sensor... I'm so relieved if this is the case!

My repair guy/man stated that it is most like a sensor malfunction... YES!

1. An opponaut named MtrRider stated that you need to first reset the steering angle sensor. Check his post.
3. Did the cruise control not work before the ABS/BAS/ESP light came on? Or did it stop working after the lights came on?

Ouch! Pretty expensive. My workplace has generic (but good) fault code reader and I have able to find steering angle calibration problem from A-series M-B. I have no idea what it can see from this M-B models but Finland is probably a bit far away for a quick test...
